The OGURA family residence stands in the Hamadera residential area, where many unique houses were built from the Taisho to the early Showa period. This western-style house is a fine example of Spanish-style western architecture, with Spanish tiles, scratch tiles on the hip walls and a unique design on the second-floor stairwell window and entrance arch. The gate is made of reinforced concrete, its pillars are covered with tiles, from those pillars, structural decorated arms are supporting the copper plates thatched roof that has also traditional pier tiles on its ridge . This portal perfectly expresses the mixture of Japanese and Western influences. The whole was designed by the architectural firm of Tani IKEDA .
