Established as Houtoku Bank Osaka Branch in 1922. The motif is a classical symmetrical architectural style using granite in the lower part of the building, as seen in many banks in this period, ceramic tiles are adopted above the second floor, the decoration is simplified and geometrical style designed by Kozo Kawai gives a modern and light impression. In the inside, the first and second floors are stairwell it is renovated and used as a shop, The bronze fittings and spandrel wall made of Japanese marble offer a glimpse of the past. The spiral staircase on the right hand side entrance leads to the office and tenants floors above. |
