Outline explanation

A two-story row house partitioned into four units. It is located near Showacho Station of Subway Midosuji Line. There were so many row houses in Osaka before The World War Two, as the urban residence for ordinary people. This is the first nagaya designated as a tangible cultural property in Japan. This is the first area that a land readjustment project has been undertaken based on City Planning Act(1919) in Japan. City gas facilities including gas bathes were furnished since when the house was built. Now all four units are changed into restaurants, they are popular for the good old atomosphere. It won the ‘Osaka Mayer’s Prize’ at ‘Osaka Community Building Award’ in 2006. Also they created a festival calld ‘Doppuri Showacho’ by the idea of the young generations in Nagaya.
