Outline explanation

A wooden two-story, partial flat residence constructed in early Showa era, The ‘Main House’, ‘Annex’, ‘Uchikura’ (literally, internal storehouse), ‘Sotokura’ (literally, outernal storehouse), ‘Barn’, ‘Main Gate’ and ‘Stone Wall’ are designated as registered cultural properties. The Teradas is an established branch family of Kusuji Terada who was a clan of Terada Zaibatsu(financial combine), their trade name was ‘TERAKUSU’. As Kusuji set up a branch family, he ran an ironworks in Kaizuka, Asogo-Mura where is near the present residence. He purchased the present property in 1934, and all the architecture except the Annex were constructed in 1936. The Annex is the oldest reinforced concrete construction in Kaizuka City, built in early Showa 30’s (approximately 1955).
