Outline explanation

Founded in 1927 by YAMAMOTO Hiroyuki , it was destroyed by fire in the Osaka Air Raid. It was rebuilt in 1950 with the enthusiasm of the citizens. (The Noh stage in the centre of the building has an atrium between the first and first floors, creating a spectacular sight. The Noh stage is gabled, with a cypress bark roof, and is a replica of the National Treasure stage in the Kuroshoin of Nishi Honganji. Taifu MATSUNO, a leading Noh painter, produced the pine trees on the background panel. The space behind the stage, including the dressing room, has been well preserved, and the stage is valuable as a Noh theatre with its traditional form of a Noh stage.
