Edobori Kodama Building was built for the late Takejirou Kodama’s principal residence. It is an early Showa modern architecture, registered as a national registered cultural property in 2007(Heisei 19). Takejirou Kodama established Kodama Takehei Shop in current Utsubohonmachi, and did great success as a cotton quotient. The contractor Okamoto who designed and built the residence is also well known to work on an architect W.M.Volies’s works. Influence of Mission Spanish Style on the facade, the detailed Japanese style motif decoration can be seen. In 1978( Showa 53) it was fully renovated as a multipurpose building for business and prepared for the present. It is available for classical music lessons, training sessions, meetings etc.
