Outline explanation

Gengahashi Onsen is a public bathing facility constructed in 1937 (Showa 12). It was established by the father of the present owner as he rent the institution which had not been operated at all for the first five years. It is a two-story wooden building whose appearance and interior show signs of Showa modernism. A pair of Statue of Liberty are placed above the front entrance. The hall on the second floor was used as a dance hall, pool hall, restaurants and so on. At the height of its prosperity, they had more than one thousand visitors, but the popularity of the individual baths has led to fewer them. It was closed in 2019 and now is used for events occasionally.
