Outline explanation

Bricks single arch sluice gates. 55m length, 2m width.  This sluice gate was built in the central part of the city, at the point of the Nagase River seperated from the Yamato River flowing through. Minehead is the horseshoe-shaped cross section which have about 1.6m diameter, and three bricks thick round arch. Capstones of granite are put on the pit gate, and the wing walls overhanging diagonally. Small, but it is a valuable structure to tell now Modern River Landscape in Meiji period.
