Outline explanation

Takemikumari Shrine is a Shikinai-sha (shrine listed in Engishiki laws), its main sanctuary is designated as an important cultural property. Nagi Shrine, an auxiliary shrine, the main enshrined deities is Masashige Kusunoki, has the main sanctuary built in Ikkensha Kasuga-zukuri style (built to the width of just a single bay at the gable ends) in 1938. The worship hall completed two years later is an architecture that has a peculiar design, the kohai (the roof built over the steps leading up to a temple building) with the cener of it a little higher and a muko karahafu gable roof (built like a chidori hafu or oriel window independently on the top of a roof) with the votive offering hall with a karahafu(cusped) gable roof is connected in the back of the building. But it is a good example of shaping of a modern shrine architecture with its neat and tidy design. Also the Tsukiji-Bei (the roofed earthern wall) surrounds the sacred area, and the treasury built in the Taisho Period contribute to encourage the histrical scenery of the forest of the shrine.
