Name Former Sugiyama Family Residence Address 31-14 Tondabayashi-cho, Tondabayashi-shi TEL/FAX 0721-23-6117(TEL)/0721-55-4605(FAX) HP https://jinaimachi.net/facility_information/sugiyamake/ E-mail Architecture age 1782-83 Building type Residential buildings / Commercial buildings Construction Outline explanation Our family is the oldest family of the eight people who were the center of the construction of Tondabayashi Temple Uchimachi. Initially, it seems that it was a cotton wholesaler from the store name “Wataya”, but after acquiring the brewery stock in 1685, it developed as a brewery and was a big merchant who played a key role in the Kawachi brewing industry. .. It is also the birthplace of Tsuyuko Isonokami, a poet of the Meiji sect. Although it is a townhouse, it is characterized by having a plane structure similar to that of a farmhouse, and boasts the oldest and largest scale in Jinaicho. The tatami room is also beautiful, and it is a valuable remains as a qualitatively excellent townhouse architecture. The site occupies one block (1000 tsubo, now 430 tsubo), and it is said that more than 10 buildings including the main building, a storehouse, a pot store, and a sake brewery were built.
