The main house was constructed as a residence in 1929, and was bought by Kenji Sugita who was the Tondabayasi Postmaster in 1936. It has been the Sugitas Residence since then. The entrance porch is overhanging in front in the north, its design is a unique secession style. A large and small Eestern style reception rooms are placed on the both sides following the entrance, and a drawing room of ten tatami mats is situated behind them, also there is another drawing room of eight tatami mats on the second floor. This house has a Japanese style internal entrance on the eastern side of the first floor, it is an outstanding architecture that Japanese and Western style are beautifully harmonized. Also the white earthern wall warehouse in the southern side contributes to encourage the scenery of the garden.
