Located on a small hill overlooking the Hotani River. The main building of this dwelling, which was built in 1744, is a single-storey wooden building with a 9-ken (about 16m) and 5-ken (about 9m) wooden structure, with a thatched roof (hidden by a temporary tin roof). It stands on the south side in the middle of the site. Only the eastern part of the roof is of the Irimoya (hipped and gabled roof) typology, as a transformation at the end of the Edo period changed the typology of the western part to Yamato-mune (thatched and tiled roof on a gable). The composition of the plan is four rooms arranged in an excessively closed configuration. It is one of the oldest farmhouses in the city and, although it has been repaired and remodelled, it is said that no structural repairs have been made since its construction. As a private house essential to the formation of Sugi village and displays the style of a house built in the Edo period. Four buildings (the main building, the western warehouse, the rice warehouse and the entrance gate) are nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
