Outline explanation

A reinforced concrete structured building in late Taisho Period. Located at near the southwest corner of Nippon-Bashi 1 Chome intersection which is the southern starting point of Sakai-Suji, the building is facing east. A western style church with structure of brick and reinforced concrete. The windows above the entrance in the east are gothic style, and round windows are placed in the left and right below them. The architectural techniques can be glimpsed in the structure of the ceilings, platform, windows, floors, chairs, etc. Constructed by Okamoto Koumuten that built many Vorries architectures, designed by Shigekazu Yamanaka who studied architecture in the U.S. Aging after years, a major renovation was done in 2001, restored to its original state, also the functions as a ‘Modern Church’ such as the barrier-free environment with the installation of a lift is completed. A plant motif steel gate is newly installed.
