Outline explanation

The building was completed in 1933 as the headquarters of Bank Izumi. Since then, many financial organisations have moved in, but it ceased to be used as a bank in 2004. The building was taken over by Timely Company Ltd. who repaired and restored it. The building has an impressive facade resembling the Chinese character for “door”, designed by architect Setsu WATANABE and built by Fujiki Komuten. The interior has been renovated, but the dynamic arched entrance extending to the first floor and the vault doors are still intact. As it was built around the same time as the Jisen Kaikan, it is believed to have been built by Jinkichi TERADA after the death of Jinyomo of Terada Zaibatsu. It stands opposite Kishu Kaido Road and is a symbol of the local landscape.
